Empowering Disadvantaged Young Women

Breast Cancer Awareness

Last month, to show their dedication to the fight against breast cancer, five OMID pupils volunteered to participate in a scientific conference on “Signs and Symptoms of Breast Cancer”. The girls attended a speech delivered by Dr. Karina Ghadimi and were provided with a free consultation. They later shared the data collected with their peers at the Foundation.

We have now asked all OMID pupils to do research on breast cancer. They have been given a week to prepare themselves for an upcoming discussion held within the centre. The discussion will focus on breast cancer awareness, symptoms and methods of diagnosis, and will be followed by a Q&A session.

In organizing this event we hope to increase the sensitivity of otherwise uninformed persons about this topic. The girls will be encouraged to share what they have learned about breast cancer with their family members and friends.
